Markets news on stocks, currencies and commodities; Hewlett-Packard, the PC, printer and computer services giant, on Wednesday said that it had reached an agreement to acquire 3Com, a provider of computer network equipment, for $2.7 billion in a deal that HP plans as a platform to move into the business space of the leader in networking systems and infrastructure - -Cisco Systems.
