Markets news on stocks, currencies and oil: European Union (EU) on Sunday rejected pleas for special aid for Eastern Europe and a rescue package for carmakers, in response to German worries over budget deficits. The Consultative Committee of Accountancy Bodies – Ireland (CCAB-I), the umbrella group of the State’s largest accountancy bodies, has called today for an early Irish Budget to tackle the serious decline in the economic situation.
