Markets news on stocks, currencies and oil: The Chief Executive of Irish Life & Permanent plc, Ireland's third biggest financial services group, Denis Casey, today informed the Board of the Company that he wishes to resign from the Group. Minister for Finance, Brian Lenihan has welcomed the move but political leaders remain in Pontius Pilate mode and refuse to accept responsibility for economic mismanagement on a grand scale.
