Markets News Afternoon: ECB credit survey shows SMEs facing funding problems; US Leading Index in fifth consecutive rise in August

Markets news on stocks, currencies and oil; A European Central Bank survey published today, shows that small and medium-sized Eurozone firms (SMEs) are finding it harder to secure credit. Meanwhile, it was reported that the US Leading Economic Index (LEI) increased 0.6 percent in August, following a 0.9% gain in July, and a 0.8% rise in June - - it was the fifth consecutive rise.
