Lenihan says Government does not rule out public investment in Irish banks

The Minister for Finance, Brian Lenihan said at the week-end that the Government had not ruled out public investment in Irish banks, but said banks have to demonstrate a capacity to attract private investment. However, support for private investment, could be similar to an Enron-style off-balance sheet vehicle.
