Japan reports exports to the US plunged 22% in August; First trade deficit in normal trading month since 1982

Japan today reported today that it had its first trade deficit in August, since November 1982 on a normal trading month basis, as exports to the US plunged by a record 22%.  Japan's Finance Ministry said overall, exports rose 0.3%.
