Italy in discussions with China on selling bonds; EU to launch bond to fund lending to Portugal

Italy has been in discussions in recent weeks with China to entice Beijing to buy its sovereign bonds and invest in strategic companies. Meanwhile, the EU said on Monday that it will issue a benchmark bond with 10 years maturity this week, to fund lending to Portugal.
