Irish services economic activity rebounded in October but growth was only marginal as economic conditions remained fragile. The seasonally adjusted Business Activity Index - - which is based on a single question asking respondents to report on the actual change in business activity at their companies compared to one month ago - - moved back above the 50.0 no-change mark, posting 50.9 from 48.8. This indicated that after falling in September, business activity in the Irish service sector rebounded in October. However, the rate of expansion was only marginal, and weaker than the long-run series average as wider economic conditions remained fragile.
