Irish service activity: The seasonally adjusted Business Activity Index fell for the sixth month running in June and, at 41.9, signalled a sharp decline in activity in the Irish service sector. Moreover, the Index posted its lowest reading in the eight-year survey history. Reduced activity was linked by firms to falling new order volumes and deteriorating economic conditions in the wider Irish economy.
