Irish retail sales volume down 7.3% in year to October - annual fall biggest since 1984

The volume of Irish retail sales (i.e. excluding price effects) decreased by 7.3% in October 2008 compared to October 2007. There was a monthly decrease of 0.6%. If Motor Trades are excluded there was an annual decrease of 6.2% and the monthly change was -0.6%, according to the CSO.
