Irish retail sales rose in June for the second straight month

The volume of Irish retail sales (i.e. excluding price effects) increased by 0.2% in June 2011 when compared with June 2010 and there was a monthly increase of 1.1%. It as the second straight monthly rise. If Motor Trades are excluded, the volume of retail sales decreased by 4.2% in June 2011 when compared with June 2010, while there was a monthly decrease of 0.1% according to the Central Statistics Office.
