Irish merchandise exports up 4% in year to September 2010

Seasonally adjusted Irish merchandise exports increased by 2% between August and September while imports increased by 1% according to the Central Statistics Office (CSO). On an unadjusted basis, the value of exports in September 2010 was up by 4% compared with September 2009 and the value of imports was up by 7%. This resulted in a trade surplus of €4.18bn.
