Irish merchandise exports fell 5% in the year to July; Total exports including services rose 2.7% in year to June

The CSO said today that on an unadjusted basis, the value of exports in July 2008 was down 5% on July 2007, while the value of imports was down 2%. The value of exports in June 2008 was down 9% on June 2007, while the value of imports was down 5%. The CSO said that service exports recovered in the second quarter, in particular computer services - i.e software.
