Irish manufacturing sector continued to contract at a marked rate in June

In June, Irish manufacturing business conditions deteriorated at a marked rate. At 44.7, the seasonally adjusted NCB Purchasing Managers’ Index (PMI) was in line with the survey record low registered in April. The PMI signalled a contraction of the manufacturing sector for the seventh month running, as the main components of the index – output, new orders and employment – all fell at marked rates.
