Irish manufacturing sector business conditions continued to deteriorate in May, as signalled by the seasonally adjusted NCB Purchasing Managers’ Index (PMI) – an indicator designed to provide a single-figure measure of the economic health of the manufacturing industry – posting 45.2. The PMI rose on April’s survey low, but continued to signal a marked worsening in the economic health of the manufacturing sector.
