Irish manufacturing output increased at sharpest pace in March since June 2006. The PMI (Purchasing Managers' Index) data signalled that operating conditions in the sector improved for the first time since June 2006  -- in twenty-eight months. Output rose sharply, as did new business, driven by series-record new export order growth.
