Irish Live Register fell slightly to 444,299 people in February 2011; Total of non-Irish nationals at 79,162

In February 2011 there were 444,299 people signing on the Irish Live Register representing an annual increase of 7,343 (+1.7%) over the year. This compares with an increase of 5,741 (+1.3%) in the year to January 2011 and an increase of 84,503 (+24.0%) in the year to February 2010. The Central Statistics Office (CSO) said today that on a seasonally adjusted basis there was a decrease of 1,700 on the Live Register in the month to February 2011. This small decrease follows a larger seasonally adjusted monthly decrease of 5,800 in January 2011. The total of
