Irish Financial Ombudsman claims savings of €45m for consumers since 2005; Complaints up 45% in 2009 because of the recession

The Irish Financial Ombudsman  said on Thursday, that consumers have benefited by some €45m as a result of his findings since April 1, 2005. 6,000 complaints received in 2008 (36% increase) and so far this year complaints are up by 45% to 2,600, triggered by the recession.
