Irish Economy: Economist Pat McArdle says we are in a state of national emergency. He says many parties have been complicit for the current dire situation including the media, in particular the suggestion that we might be forced to leave the euro was a callous one which added to the cost of the national debt and brought us closer to the brink. He says it has done enormous damage to our reputation overseas.
