Irish Economy: Taoiseach Brian Cowen increasingly resembles the Depression era US President Herbert Hoover, as he fails to show leadership at a time of economic peril. At the weekend, a Government spokesperson said that a review group to examine Irish public spending will be established next week after the publication of the proposals of a taskforce on public sector reform.
