The Irish consumer sentiment rose strongly in October but the result could be a fluke. The overall KBC Bank Ireland/ESRI Consumer Sentiment Index increased to 63.7 from 53.3 in September, and is at its highest level since July of last year. The corresponding figure for October 2010 was 48.1. The 3-month moving average increased to 57.6 compared to the 54.0 recorded in October 2010.
