Irish consumer prices rise 3.0% in year to March; EU Harmonised Index of Consumer Prices up 1.2%

Irish Consumer Prices in March, as measured by the Consumer Price Index (CPI), increased by 0.9% in the month. This compares to an increase of 0.1% recorded in March of last year. Prices on average, as measured by the CPI, were 3.0% higher in March compared with March 2010. The EU Harmonised Index of Consumer Prices (HICP) increased by 0.5% in the month, compared to an increase of 0.1% recorded in March of last year. Prices on average, as measured by the HICP, were 1.2% higher in March compared with March 2010.
