Irish construction industry employment fell 13.8% in year to April 2008 - a total of about 39,000 job losses

The CSO said today that employment in private firms (with five or more persons engaged) in the Irish construction industry decreased by 13.8% in April 2008 by comparison with April 2007 - a fall of about 39,000.
