Innovation: President Barack Obama touched down at San Francisco International Airport shortly before 6 pm Thursday, and headed to meet with 12 tech executives at a private dinner at the Woodside home of Silicon Valley venture capitalist John Doerr. Coinciding with his visit to the hub of American innovation, McKinsey Global Institute published a report which says to match the GDP (gross domestic product) growth of the past 20 years and the rising living standards of past generations, the United States needs to boost labour productivity growth from 1.7 to 2.3% a year - - an acceleration of 34% to a rate not seen since the 1960s.
