Increase of 2.8% in new Irish private cars licensed in July; Decrease of 15.4% in January-July 2008 period

There were 16,175 new private cars licensed in July 2008, compared with 15,738 in July, 2007, an increase of 2.8% due to the changes in the VRT road tax which took effect on July 1st.
