IDA Ireland welcomes Intel’s new European ‘Open Lab’ for Leixlip

IDA Ireland today welcomed the announcement by global computer chip leader Intel that it has chosen its Leixlip Campus as the location for one of two new European R&D Hubs with the establishment of an ‘Open Lab,’ which will work in collaboration with the National University of Ireland, Maynooth. It will focus on software development and visual computing solutions. The decision follows the formation of Intel Labs Europe (ILE), a new initiative to co-ordinate the work of 800 Intel researchers at different sites in Europe.
