HP considering a spinoff of its PC unit; acquires UK IT firm Autonomy for about $10.25bn

HP (Hewlett-Packard), the world's largest PC maker, said on Thursday that it is considering a spinoff of its unit. The company has agreed to acquire Autonomy, the UK IT firm for about $10.25bn.
