Hewlett-Packard appoints Meg Whitman as CEO; Ousted chief in line for $10-$12m after 11 months work

Hewlett-Packard on Thursday announced that its board of directors has appointed Meg Whitman as president and chief executive officer. She is a former chief of eBay, the online auction service. Léo Apotheker, the ousted CEO is expected to get an exit deal worth $10-$12m after 11 months work.
