Global manufacturing PMI rose to nine-month high in May

In May, the JPMorgan Global Manufacturing PMI (Purchasing Managers' Index) reached its highest level for nine months, rising to 45.3, up further from December 2008's record low. Indexes for output and new orders also hit much higher levels than in April.
