Global Manufacturing PMI rose to 70-month high in March

Growth of the global manufacturing sector accelerated in March to a 70-month high, with the latest expansions in output and new orders coming from a broad base of nations. At 56.7, up from 55.4 in February, the JPMorgan Global Manufacturing PMI (Purchasing Managers' Index) rose to its highest level since May 2004. The headline PMI has remained above the no change mark of 50.0 for nine consecutive months.
