Global Inflation: Have the world’s central banks critically misjudged the situation?

Global Inflation: As interest rates fell in the 1990's from double-digit levels, "historic lows" became a common term in news reports. Related global inflation was also low and the addition of China's labour market together with the end of the system in Eastern Europe where leaving one's country without state permission, risked summary execution, kept wage rises under control in the developed world. Low interest rates and general inflation became the norm but asset price inflation took off.
