Global Corporate R&D: Top EU firms cut investment less than US rivals but Europe still well behind; 3 European and US companies in top 10

Global Corporate R&D:  Volkswagen, Nokia and Aventis are the only 3 European companies in the top 10 list of global company R&D investors.  Toyota, the Japanese car maker is the global leader for the second year in a row, with €6.8bn invested in 2009, according to the European Commission's "EU Industrial R&D Investment Scoreboard" published on Tuesday. Microsoft, Pfizer and Johnson & Johnson are the 3 US companies in the top rankings.
