German Indicator of Economic Sentiment increases sharply in August

The German ZEW Indicator of Economic Sentiment increased sharply in August 2009. The indicator rose by 16.6 points and now stands at 56.1 points after 39.5 points in the previous month. This value is well above the indicator's historical average of 26.5 points.
