Professor Hans-Werner Sinn who is Germany's
best-known economist, turned 60 on March 7 this year. Since July 1984 he has
been full professor on the Economics Faculty of the University of Munich (LMU).
Nine years ago he became President of the Ifo Institute for Economic Research.
With the co-operation between the University and the Ifo Institute he has helped
make Munich an international centre of discussion for economics and economic
policy.
