German firms faced slight tightening of the credit market in August

German manufacturing industry, retail and wholesale trade, and construction firms faced a slight tightening of the credit market in August. The cyclical weakening of the German economy has caused banks to tighten their credit directives and to raise their risk premia. As a consequence, firms must now expect more and more unfavourable credit terms.
