German exports increased 4.2% in June and were up 7.9% in the year, according to provisional data of the national statistics office Destatis. Germany exported commodities to the value of € 88.3 billion and imported commodities to the value of € 68.6 billion in June 2008. Imports were 5.3% above the respective June 2007 level and decreased by 0.1% on May 2008.
