German exports fell 23.1% in the year to February 2009

German exports fell 23.1% in the year to February 2009, according to data today from the national statistics office Destatis. Germany exported goods to the value of €64.8 billion and imported commodities to the value of €56.2 billion in February 2009. German imports were 16.4% below the February 2008 level. After seasonal adjustment, exports decreased by 0.7% and imports by 4.2% on January 2009.
