German consumer confidence continued upward trend in January 2011

German consumer confidence continued its upward trend in January 2011, according to market research firm Gfk. The propensity to buy improved significantly, while economic expectations remained high. By contrast, income expectations declined slightly from the high level previously recorded. After a revised 5.5 points in January, the overall indicator is forecasting a figure of 5.7 points in February 2011.
