G-8 Summit: There was a pushback against France's proposals on web censorship on Thursday, on a day when a study suggested that the Internet promotes the social activities of children and adolescents. This is the result of research by one of Germany's leading economic institutes, the Ifo Institute at the University of  Munich, that was presented yesterday in Berlin, at an event together with Initiative D21, a web advocacy group. The researchers refute the myth that the Internet isolates people socially and thus ultimately erodes the foundations of our society.
