Foreign purchases of US Treasury securities rose in June; Ireland 13th biggest holder at $46.3bn

Foreign investors increased their purchases of US long-term securities in June, boosted by China’s move from owning short term debt to longer term Treasury securities during the month, according to data released by the Treasury on Monday. Ireland was the 13th biggest foreign holder at $46.3bn with China in the lead at $776bn.
