The September PMI in the Indian manufacturing sector, pointed to a marked strengthening in business conditions, although the extent of the improvement was the weakest in 10 months. The seasonally adjusted HSBC Purchasing Managers’ Index - - a headline index designed to measure the overall health of the manufacturing sector -- posted 55.1 in September, decreasing from August’s reading of 57.2.
