Ex-RBS chief surrenders one third of pension bonanza; Ex-BoI chief still laughing all the way to the bank from the bank

Sir Fred Goodwin who was ousted last year as chief executive of Royal Bank of Scotland (RBS) by the UK government, has agreed to return more than a third of his huge pension bonanza, in response to public outrage. In Ireland, the ex-chief executive of Bank of Ireland (BoI), Brian Goggin, who like Goodwin had brought his bank to the brink of failure, is under no pressure to part with the huge gains he made on leaving the bank in recent months, never mind what he had earned in the period of his mismanagement of the firm.
