The final Eurozone Services Business Activity Index rose to 54.1 in March, up from 51.8 in February and above the flash estimate of 53.7. The index is currently at its highest since November 2007 and has been above the no-change mark of 50.0 for seven successive months. Higher levels of activity were linked to growth of new business as underlying economic conditions continued to improve. The headline business activity index is based on survey responses to a single question asking companies to compare actual levels of business activity at mid-month to one month earlier.
