The latest retail Purchasing Managers' Index (PMI) data from Markit covering the Eurozone signalled that sales fell for the second month running in September. The seasonally adjusted Eurozone Retail PMI - - which tracks monthly changes in the value of sales at retailers - - remained below the no-change mark of 50.0. The PMI fell to 48.7, from 49.7, signalling a slightly faster rate of decline than in August. However, over the third quarter as a whole, the PMI signalled the best performance since Q2 2007.
