Eurozone manufacturing output growth fastest for nearly 10 years in April but Greece suffers further contraction

Eurozone manufacturing production expanded at the fastest pace since June 2000 in April. At 57.6 in April, up from 56.6 in March, the Markit Final Eurozone Manufacturing PMI (Purchasing Managers' Index) came in slightly above its earlier flash estimate of 57.5. Operating conditions across Greece’s manufacturing economy continued to deteriorate rapidly at the start of 2010’s second quarter.
