Eurozone manufacturing and services contracted in September for the first time in over two years with the Markit Flash Eurozone PMI Purchasing Managers' Index) Composite Output Index, based on around 85% of usual monthly replies, at a level of 49.2, down from 50.7 in August. The dip below the 50.0 no-change level was the first time since July 2009.
