Eurozone forecasters expect the economy to contract by 1.7% this year; Industrial production fell 12% in the Eurozone in 2008

Eurozone forecasters expect the economy to contract by 1.7% this year but grow by 0.6% in 2010, according to a survey released today by the European Central Bank in its Monthly Bulletin. Also today, it was reported that in December 2008 compared with the previous month, seasonally adjusted industrial production fell by 2.6% in the Eurozone. The decline for the full year was 12%.
