The European Union will hold a second summit Wednesday in addition to its meeting this Sunday because of an impasse between Germany and France over extending the financial muscle of the European Financial Stability Facility (EFSF) -- the Eurozone rescue fund. According to media reports, Sarkozy and Merkel discussed the plan to hold a second summit on Wednesday night.
