European Central Bank keeps benchmark rate at 1%; Trichet to address press conference on the Greek crisis

The European Central Bank (ECB) as expected kept its benchmark interest rate on hold at 1.0%, at a meeting of the governing council in Lisbon today. The ECB president, Jean-Claude Trichet, will address a press conference and he is expected to be questioned on the economic woes of Eurozone member Greece and the risk of contagion for other Eurozone members.
