European Central Bank keeps benchmark interest rate on hold at 1.00%; Trichet to address press conference

 The Governing Council of the European Central Bank (ECB) agreed at its meeting in Frankfurt today, to keep its benchmark interest rate on hold at 1.00%.  ECB President Jean-Claude Trichet will outline the reasons for the Council's decision at a press conference in the early afternoon.
